Sophie is quite a character–uncompromising and loyal, in friendship and in life. When she was working here in Paris with me, it was always very intense; we worked a lot but we had a lot of fun as well, because she was always full of energy and positivity. I was so happy for Sophie when I saw Mrs. Obama wearing one of her dresses.

Sophie has always been deeply determined, and she has worked greatly for her success. She has created a lovely style, feminine, elegant, but unassuming. She deserves all her success and I’m incredibly happy for her. She began as my right hand, and now she is my friend.

“Sophie Theallet….has among the best color sense of any designer in New-York or Europe. Some old pros say it reminds them of Saint Laurent’s.”

The International Woolmark Prize is a fashion design award that identifies the world's foremost emerging designers, whilst highlighting the diverse interpretations of Merino wool within their collections.
First held in 1954 as an initiative of the International Wool Secretariat (IWS), the award launched the careers of iconic fashion designers Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. Today, the International Woolmark Prize crosses borders and cultures by recognizing outstanding new talent from emerging and established fashion hotspots.
