Sophie Théallet
Sophie Théallet’s career bridges Parisian couture and New York modernity. Trained in the atelier of Jean-Paul Gaultier and spending nearly a decade as the right hand of Azzedine Alaïa, her work carries forward a lineage of craft defined by precision, sensuality, and human dignity.
Born in the South of France, Sophie studied at the Studio Berçot in Paris before entering those ateliers — the source of the craftsmanship you experience today in Room 502.

“Sophie creates a beautiful fashion — feminine, elegant, without ostentation. She deserves her success and I am very happy about it. She began as my assistant, now she is my friend.” — Azzedine Alaïa

Philosophy & Room 502
At the heart of Sophie’s work is a conviction: fashion must serve people, not the other way around. Long before it was industry vocabulary, she advocated for inclusivity, dignity, and ethical practice.
With Room 502, Sophie distills this philosophy into timeless, limited-edition pieces designed for real life. Luxury that feels personal. Clothes to live in, keep, and treasure.
