Room 502 Couture Shirt by Sophie Theallet
Embroidered by Hand in Partnership with the Kalhath Institute
Le Style: Our take on the timeless tailored shirt comes in our signature imperial cotton and features a front placket, as well as delicate hand embroidered contrast stitching along the collar and cuffs. This “wardrobe staple” comes in black, indigo and white.
Ma Muse: At Room 502 deceptively simple cuts are informed by decades of Couture know-how. Cristóbal Balenciaga and Charles James were masters of the arched sleeve, cut from a single fabric without a seam at the shoulders. A silhouette favored by glamorous clients such as Gloria Guinness and Pauline de Rothschild, our version provides fit and volume in all the right places. Elasticized cuffs conveniently keep sleeves in place when pulled up.
Mode d’Emploi: Picture Katherine Hepburn’s irreverent style in the 1940 classic, The Philadelphia Story. Pair our navy shirt with fitted ankle-length pants and ballerina flats for a stroll through the streets of Cartagena. For a candlelit dinner party in at home in the South of France, or wear our white version with a colourful voluminous skirt and bachelites bracelets. The choice is yours.
